Regarding Recent Events.

Many people are panicking a bit over this. As we all know what is currently going on in the Youtube community. Due to chaotic events that have happened today and yesterday. So let's get onto it shall we?





RECENT EVENTS AND FLAGGING



As you may or may not know by now. NintendoCapriSun has been suspended. This comes after a take down of The Archfiend as well.

A self-claimed hacker has taken the offensive in this campaign. Over what exactly is pretty obvious. It seems the vocal point is around the flagging system that Youtube employs to report videos that are Copyrighted Material/Adult Content. I'm sure most of us are aware that this system is flawed and this is a proven point as of now.

For those wondering what exactly I mean. Take for example Serenia and I's LP of Seiken Densetsu 3. Several episodes were claimed falsely to be copyrighted material under "Toei Animation Inc." A company that was in no way related to SD3. How is this possible? All of it is through the flagging system currently used on Youtube.

A simple aspect of it all is that someone can claim to own the property. Being under any name they can really wish that is in reason. If they make it look legitimate enough, it can cost you. Not only that, but this will apply a "strike" to your account(Varies by degree of offense, this applies to the video itself too.). Sometimes you can fight this claim, however others you cannot. Be aware if a DMCA is filed against you, disputing it is a legal measure and you should consider seeking a legal professional.


WHAT SHOULD WE DO ABOUT IT?

There are a few things that can be done. However not all of them are the smartest. If you have videos and you wish to keep your account in a healthy standing. I simply suggest keeping away from the whole thing. Lest you wish to become a target. Do not favorite any videos suggesting a rebellion against the troll. Don't strike out and make a video challenging said troll to attack and lastly, don't go and openly attack the troll be it on their channel or yours. Stay neutral for now.

The same goes for those who are just fans. I know you all love NCS a lot, however attacking the troll just eggs him on further. He'll continue to strike channels you love until he stops getting the attention he wants. Simple as that. Agree or disagree, it's really up to you on this.
